Kyshera are :

Formed in South Wales in 2004, their music has been described as an ‘eclectic mix of pretty much everything’, blending elements of Rock & the Avant-Garde whilst maintaining a strong sense of melody throughout.
Soon after its release, Kyshera’s self produced debut album ‘Made in China’ stayed at the top of the BBC’s Unsigned chart for 6 weeks straight and won demo of the month & demo of the year in music magazines up & down the UK. Indeed, the album created such a stir that James was contacted by Nigel Kennedy’s solicitors and asked to remove his surname from the album cover or face their wrath!!
The problem : at that time there was no Kyshera, so to speak, the album was written, recorded & performed by James alone and in order to actually play the material live and take it to a new level, the best musicians were needed. However, living in Emo capital meant that this was no easy task but after much sifting through the skeletons of Nu Metal, yuppie Punk and Retro clones, Kyshera was formed.
The band then proceeded to gig relentlessly around Wales & London developing a following of supporters to whom they are eternally grateful and attracting radio play on Radio 1 FM, The Selector, Radio Wales and a host of pirate stations. As a live band, Kyshera are often referred to as ‘mental’, ‘energetic’ or just ‘loud’ and they incorporate real time sample triggering & electronics alongside the onslaught of Guitars, Drums, Bass and hanging Mannequin heads!
All of ‘Made In China’ has just been re-recorded in order to actually feature the band and to accommodate the many changes the songs have taken over time, however, there is a large collection of new material & the second Kyshera album is in its final stages of production – the band are already playing songs from it at gigs. However, ‘writing about music is like dancing about architecture’ as Frank Zappa once said so come & see for yourself what all the fuss is about – you wont regret it!!
